“The production, based around the songs of Bob Dylan, offers a new take on the jukebox musical... Not the first, but certainly the best, musical featuring the songs of Bob Dylan: It’s as audacious, enlightening, and exasperating as the man himself.” - Rolling Stone
Named after the superstar's iconic folk track, Girl from the North Country debuted in 2017, presenting at The Old Vic before transferring to London's West End. The limited jaunt was a huge success, winning in three Laurence Olivier Award categories.
The production then found its way to the US in 2018 at New York's Public Theatre. Here, it won an esteemed Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical. In 2019, the show finally played on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre. Despite the abrupt cancellation because of the coronavirus pandemic, it was nominated seven times at the Tony Awards, winning Best Orchestrations for Hale’s work.
This summer 2024, the jukebox musical will arrive at the Keller Auditorium as a part of its new run of shows. The historic hall guarantees audiences a truly momentous spectacle thanks to its high-end seats, remarkable stage, and top-of-the-line theatrical facilities.
