For prog loving folks who are hoping to experience the magic of legendary progressive band King Crimson, here comes a monumental tribute tour that has some of the most talented musicians on the planet. BEAT, the superband comprising former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, plus guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, and Danny Carey, also known for his incredible gig as drummer of rock band Tool. Together, these superb performers will bring the heat as they belt out King Crimson’s 80s catalog, including Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair.
One can say that King Crimson is pretty much one of the most celebrated progressive rock bands in the circuit. The band is an influential force that began in the early 70s and their work has inspired a slew of equally outstanding outfits, including Yes, Rush, and Genesis. Their incredible work goes as far back as 1969 upon the release of their debut effort In the Court of Crimson King. During the 80s, the band included bassist Tony Levin and Andrew Belew, both of whom eventually came back to perform with the band during their 2000s era. Now that King Crimson is no longer performing as a group, fans can only reminisce on past performers and footage taken during their concerts.
However this 2024 begs to differ as Belew, Vai, Levin, Carey brings the magnificent tunes of the legendary band across the U.S. The BEAT Tour, performing over a whopping 50 shows. Kicking off this fall, the tour will make a highly awaited stop in Portland, Oregon.
