On Wednesday 16th October 2024, the Keller Auditorium will be showcasing a story of Wicked, the jaw-dropping backstory of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda {the Good Witch|(the good witch). Stephen Schwartz & Winnie Holzman, producers of WICKED, were motivated by the 1995 Gregory Maguire book "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West".
This broadway musical has been PRAISED for its detailed story of Oz, gifting The Wizard of Oz fans around the world a peek into Glinda and Elphaba (later known as the Wicked Witch of the West). WICKED, despite its main characters starting off as enemies, it is a profound story about friendship and acceptance. With stunning costume design and impressive special effects, WICKED guides its audience straight to the wonderful world of Oz!
The broadway musical first premiered in 2003, thus it is now 21 years old. Since its inception, Wicked has gone on to surpass $1 BILLION in box office sales on Broadway. Only The Lion King & The Phantom of the Opera have managed this incredible achievement.
