Winnie Holzman & Stephen Schwartz, creators of WICKED, were motivated by the 1995 Gregory Maguire book "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West".

This musical has been hailed for its detailed story of Oz, giving The Wizard of Oz fans around the globe a peek into Glinda and Elphaba (later known as the Wicked Witch of the West). WICKED, despite the main characters beginning as enemies, it's a powerful journey about friendship and acceptance. With a fantastic costume creation and breathtaking special effects, Wicked teleports its audience straight to the wonderful world of Oz!

The musical originally premiered in 2003, making it 21 years old. Since its debut, Wicked has surpassed $1 BILLION in revenue on Broadway. Only The Lion King & The Phantom of the Opera have managed this incredible achievement. Wicked has also DOMINATED theatres outside of Broadway, with achievements in Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Miami, and London.
